Today we sent out our first edition of ‘Tales from the Boudoir’ our newsletter. Its been a fun couple of weeks working on the content and the design – we are super happy with it all. In the first edition, as well as introducing the team we previewed our new breast cancer fundraiser that we are all excited to be preparing for, a new referral program and our first client and friends soiree that is coming up in a few weeks.
If for some reason we forgot to include you (sorry) or its your first visit to our web site, just go to our newsletter signup area and we send it out to you straight away. Here is a quick screen grab of the opening section. The newsletter was designed by Heather Musil of Little Bird Web Design & Development. I’ve worked with Heather before, she does excellent work and is great to work with. If anyone wants to develop a newsletter I would definitely recommend Heather and her work is for sure worth checking out.
If you got the newsletter what did you think? Did it look good on your monitor and email program? Is there content areas that you would like us to include in future editions? We would love to hear feedback from you, good and bad.

Mission accomplished!
One of the most rewarding things about doing boudoir photography is hearing great feedback from our clients (I mean who doesn’t love a little positive reinforcement?). Many people come in with the goal of giving someone a gift of intimate photographs of themselves, and we are always tickled to hear about the follow-up stories. The lovely Ms. N was kind enough to share her experience with us. She and her husband went away for the weekend for his 40th birthday, and this is what she had to say:
“HE LOVED THE PICTURES!!!!! He couldn’t believe that I (Mrs. HATE having her picture taken) would do them. He has told all his friends, coworkers, and even a few coffee stand girls about his gift. He can’t wait to come back in and see more. Thank you again for all that you guys did. I am sending you the pics of his expression (sooooo funny).”
And yep, you guessed it, here are the photos. This is one happy birthday hubby!

Passionately Pink Boudoir Fundraiser – lets fight breast cancer together
This is without a doubt the most awesome blog I have had the honor of writing so far at Seattle Boudoir Photography. All of us here are committed to giving back to our community, and obviously that community includes a lot of women! We certainly wouldn’t be here without all the strong, sassy, kind, intelligent, active women that we work with who bring their beautiful fearlessness to the studio. Along with these women, we also see a lot of ‘girls,’ if you know what I mean
They come in every size, shape and color that you can think of, and they are often an important part of our clients’ femininity and sensuality.
| With all that in mind, we decided to put together a fundraiser for both survivors of breast cancer and their biggest fans by doing what we do best – boudoir! Our goal is to create a safe, fun, nurturing space for anyone and everyone who wants to get involved with this amazing project. Whether you are a survivor of a double mastectomy, have never had cancer, or have watched a loved one go through the experience, we invite you to book a session at our Passionately Pink boudoir fundraiser event. The best part is that 100% of the profit will go directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound foundation, but coming in at a close second is the dose of sexy confidence that you will surely come away with after the session. Oh! And you also get an 8×10 of your favorite photograph. We’ve got specific details about the fundraiser up on the website, so click here to find out more. Thank you so much for reading this post, and we hope to hear from you and please help us get the word out by telling your friends!
We recently got to work with the lovely Ms Kim, a Breast Cancer survivor and she was good enough to let us tell her story, to watch her moving story see her video here.

Special thanks to our two incredible models for this fundraiser, if you think you might recognize then then you might be right!

Some beautiful Seattle Boudoir Photography previews of Ms N

I’m really excited that we get to share these previews of Ms N. She came in about a month ago with the goal of creating some beautiful and sexual photographs for her husband’s 40th birthday. We had some much fun working with her and just so excited about how the photographs turned out. Her husband as you can probably tell by looking at the previews is a police officer and her shirt was the perfect accessory for much of the shoot, along with some wonderfully sexy lingerie. She had planned a little get away in San Francisco for them both to celebrate his 40th birthday and it made the perfect time to give him a very wonderful gift – more details on that soon.
So when I asked her if she was ok with us posted some previews of her I was so excited that she said yes. I’m sure hubby with get a kick out of seeing these as well ! I’m getting ready to update the main gallery photographs and have a few more of Ms N for that as well

There are only a few great boudoir photographers in our neck of the woods and even more not so great ones. So come on by and check us out before you book your shoot. You can grill us about we do, get hands on with our wall art, folios, albums and other great gifts and basically just get a good feel for who we are and what we’re about. We’re pretty awesome if I do say so myself (wink wink). Email us when the mood strikes and we’ll set up a time, day or evening, for you to peruse our fabulous digs! And when I say fabulous I mean, wall to wall windows, exposed brick, city and water view loft… How bout’ them apples! Have an awesome weekend ladies and gents.

Mini Sessions coming soon to Seattle Boudoir Photography
When we first created Seattle Boudoir Photography we very much designed our sessions to be focused on creating an amazing experience with full on pampering. Not limited to but including, hair and makeup, a full photography session with multiple sets, outfits and loads of styling help. Our regular sessions last approximately two and a half hours, sometimes a little longer. Although I have to say they seem to fly by for us and our clients. If you are new to our site you can read more about the experience and watch a video here and also read what our clients say about us here.
Over the last couple weeks we have been working on our planning for the remaining part of the year, and even further out – believe it or not we are already working on ideas for our boudoir photography sessions for Valentines Day 2010! During this process we have been thinking about how we can offer more client sessions in one day, as typically we can only schedule four or maybe five sessions each day. We also know that some of our clients can’t easily commit to the full two plus hour session, as time is a precious commodity in our lives.
So we have come up with a new concept and we are super excited that that we are announcing our new Mini Boudoir Sessions. These sessions will include makeup that will last for about 20 minutes combined then with a 30 minute photography session. Between getting settled, enjoying a glass of bubbly and a fabulous shoot, the new Mini Boudoir Sessions will last about an hour. The only other difference is that the new Mini Session will focus specifically on a theme with one outfit and one set. So far we’ve come up with some great ideas! Once we lock in some itty, bitty details we’ll announce the dates for our first awesome promotion with these mini sessions. Apart from that our clients will still get the same super fun and empowering experience, the same creativity from the team at Seattle Boudoir and beautiful photographs that you will treasure for ever.
BTW, we are also getting ready to send out our first newsletter and if you haven’t signed up for that yet you might want to do so now , as the grand announcement of our first Mini Session will be included, among other things! To sign up, enter your details here.
Our August dates are getting booked up fast
We have had a busy few weeks with our first bachelorette party the weekend before last, amongst other wonderful clients that have visited us in the studio. Our August dates are already getting full with both August 9th and now the 29th fully booked. For any future brides or current wife’s looking for anniversary gifts we still have open sessions on August 30th, but hurry and call us as bookings are going quickly. To see the current list of dates click here.
We are also planning to add new dates for the end of the year for ladies looking for some sexy holiday gifts, more news on that soon. OK, off to lunch for me
Introducing the Fun and Flirty Girl, the Professional Futzer, and the Honorary Girl

We just got our new business cards in, and they look great. We wanted to do a refresh on our marketing materials and make them a lot more fun and impactful. We ended up going with a lovely merlot red color with a interesting font. On the other side (not visible below) we have one of our beautiful photographs. We actually have a series of cards with different photographs for people to collect. If you look closely you will see that each one has a professional title and a silly (but true) one! We wanted to represent both what we each do in the studio but also add have something fun with a little bit of an inside story.
I feel a little left out, seeing as this project was started before I joined and I didn’t get any cards this time, but I’m told I will get some soon
However one issue is that my silly name is still undecided, and I’m curious to see what it turns out to be, votes are coming in as we speak – keep an eye out for that breaking news…
If this is the first time visiting the site feel free to read more about the fablous Seattle Boudoir Photography team here

And now a bit more about the cards themselves…These cards were designed by Shanda Smith, CEO and owner of Pixel Soup. Phil met Shanda a number of months ago and he was quite impressed with her designs and creativity. If any small or medium business is looking to refresh their brand logo or marketing materials designs, you should check her out. Her designs are both fun and effective at conveying your message and she is a complete doll as well. You can find her at www.pixelsoupcreative.com
Next we need to update our web site a little to reflect the color changes.
Seattle Boudoir Photography previews of Ms B

Ms B visited our boudoir photography studio in Seattle a little while ago and we had a wonderful time with her and her girlfriend who came along as support. We are just wrapping up some printing for her and she gave us permission to post these photographs of her. To me there is something really special about the colors in these prints, the dramatic red contrasting with the white sheets were some of Ms B’s favorites. We also loved the richness of the blue sari and then the ones of her in the guy’s shirt and tie were just so cute! And lets not forget that she looks simply beautiful!
This reminds me that I need to update the main gallery with these and others that we now have permission to post
Updates coming soon.

Video outtakes from Merilee’s new video
A couple of days ago Merilee and I created a new video for our latest Summer Bide Promotion. If you haven’t read her blog entry from yesterday you can find it here. Although she says that she got asked to create the video because she is the newest member of the Seattle Boudoir Photography team that’s actually not quite true! We’ve quickly noticed that Merilee is super quick at picking things up, is a great writer, has a wonderful personality and her humor is very dry. So add those all together and she was the perfect one to be on camera! So, Merilee – expect more video work soon
Here is a quick blooper reel that I put together from the few clips that we didn’t use, if you have a spare minute and want a giggle hit the play button below.
Heat up your summer wedding!
Being the newest member of the Seattle Boudoir Photography team has been a ton of fun, but it also means that I DO everything that everyone else DOESN’T want to do. Case in point: I got a text an hour and a half before work yesterday morning saying, “Hey honey, today is almost certainly a video day!” which gave me an hour to find something cute to wear and come to grips with the fact that I would be on camera. Did I mention that people find it ridiculous when a photographer is themselves camera shy? Yeah, well that’s me.
In the end, the whole video thing turned out just fine. I may have had way more bloopers than usable takes, but at least now our newest offer is up online for grabs, which brings me to the point of this whole blog – the Summer Bride promotional package! This is a perfect opportunity for brides (or grooms!)-to-be to enjoy a boudoir session here at Seattle Boudoir Photography and get a great set of photographs that would make a fantastic wedding gift or honeymoon surprise.
