Seattle Boudoir Photographs of Ms J – the smoking hot Santa

Anyone that has visited our photography studio in Seattle during the last few months will know that we have been dealing with a large window replacement project. This started way back in the summer in the 90 degree temperatures that seem like a distant memory now and its only just wrapping up now! To say that this has been driving me nuts would be an understatement but the results are going to be wonderful with new windows that don’t leak – yeah! However maybe there is another good side to this, as the one thing that we pride ourselves on as a photography studio is being flexible and creative when dealing with challenges and this has certainly given us a few challenges! So, a few weeks before the holidays when we found ourselves with this rather large and very yellow piece of scaffold in one part of the studio rather than cancel the sessions that we had that day we adapted the studio and used the scaffold as one of our sets.
This set of previews was of our second client that day, the wonderful Ms J and here she is on the scaffold. She came into our photography studio with a tall order – to create a series of pin-up-style photos from which a tattoo for her boyfriend would be designed. Now we have lots of our clients that have tattoo’s but this is the first time our photographs were going to be used as the inspiration for the tattoo. She was really happy with the results of her shoot and is contemplating having a poster designed as well.
Now I realize the holiday season is basically gone now, but we couldn’t resist posting some of her ‘Smoking Hot Santa’ series. This was the last set of the day and when we used the scaffold to create something fun and different from her. I still smile at ‘The Original Multi-Purpose’ label on the scaffold, I can’t imagine that the creators ever thought that it would ever have this purpose.
With that said, here is the Hot Santa and the Scaffold, enjoy.

Some silly outtakes of Merilee – the lighting maven
After taking a couple days off after an amazing boudoir weekend here in our studio in Seattle we gearing up for another busy week. We’ve started to go through the many 100′s of photographs that were taken of our amazing clients that visited this weekend and are super excited to see them later this week and next to show them our selection. I realize that I’m a little bias (really ?!?!?) but from what I have seen so far we got some lovely shots- thank you for being so beautiful and wonderful to work with our lovely clients
As part of the process we always have a bunch of outtakes of the team and tonight I thought I would post these, mostly of Merilee this time, with a brief cameo from Nicole. Before each client comes on the different sets Merilee and I test and make any last minute adjustments to the lighting based on the outfits that clients are wearing and the mood we are going for. Seeing as I’m typically behind the camera, I torture Merilee with her sitting, standing, climbing or her favorite laying down and ask her to pose for me. And at times it gets a little silly as you can see from these – fun times for sure!

Today we sent out our first edition of ‘Tales from the Boudoir’ our newsletter. Its been a fun couple of weeks working on the content and the design – we are super happy with it all. In the first edition, as well as introducing the team we previewed our new breast cancer fundraiser that we are all excited to be preparing for, a new referral program and our first client and friends soiree that is coming up in a few weeks.
If for some reason we forgot to include you (sorry) or its your first visit to our web site, just go to our newsletter signup area and we send it out to you straight away. Here is a quick screen grab of the opening section. The newsletter was designed by Heather Musil of Little Bird Web Design & Development. I’ve worked with Heather before, she does excellent work and is great to work with. If anyone wants to develop a newsletter I would definitely recommend Heather and her work is for sure worth checking out.
If you got the newsletter what did you think? Did it look good on your monitor and email program? Is there content areas that you would like us to include in future editions? We would love to hear feedback from you, good and bad.
Some beautiful Seattle Boudoir Photography previews of Ms N

I’m really excited that we get to share these previews of Ms N. She came in about a month ago with the goal of creating some beautiful and sexual photographs for her husband’s 40th birthday. We had some much fun working with her and just so excited about how the photographs turned out. Her husband as you can probably tell by looking at the previews is a police officer and her shirt was the perfect accessory for much of the shoot, along with some wonderfully sexy lingerie. She had planned a little get away in San Francisco for them both to celebrate his 40th birthday and it made the perfect time to give him a very wonderful gift – more details on that soon.
So when I asked her if she was ok with us posted some previews of her I was so excited that she said yes. I’m sure hubby with get a kick out of seeing these as well ! I’m getting ready to update the main gallery photographs and have a few more of Ms N for that as well

Mini Sessions coming soon to Seattle Boudoir Photography
When we first created Seattle Boudoir Photography we very much designed our sessions to be focused on creating an amazing experience with full on pampering. Not limited to but including, hair and makeup, a full photography session with multiple sets, outfits and loads of styling help. Our regular sessions last approximately two and a half hours, sometimes a little longer. Although I have to say they seem to fly by for us and our clients. If you are new to our site you can read more about the experience and watch a video here and also read what our clients say about us here.
Over the last couple weeks we have been working on our planning for the remaining part of the year, and even further out – believe it or not we are already working on ideas for our boudoir photography sessions for Valentines Day 2010! During this process we have been thinking about how we can offer more client sessions in one day, as typically we can only schedule four or maybe five sessions each day. We also know that some of our clients can’t easily commit to the full two plus hour session, as time is a precious commodity in our lives.
So we have come up with a new concept and we are super excited that that we are announcing our new Mini Boudoir Sessions. These sessions will include makeup that will last for about 20 minutes combined then with a 30 minute photography session. Between getting settled, enjoying a glass of bubbly and a fabulous shoot, the new Mini Boudoir Sessions will last about an hour. The only other difference is that the new Mini Session will focus specifically on a theme with one outfit and one set. So far we’ve come up with some great ideas! Once we lock in some itty, bitty details we’ll announce the dates for our first awesome promotion with these mini sessions. Apart from that our clients will still get the same super fun and empowering experience, the same creativity from the team at Seattle Boudoir and beautiful photographs that you will treasure for ever.
BTW, we are also getting ready to send out our first newsletter and if you haven’t signed up for that yet you might want to do so now , as the grand announcement of our first Mini Session will be included, among other things! To sign up, enter your details here.
Our August dates are getting booked up fast
We have had a busy few weeks with our first bachelorette party the weekend before last, amongst other wonderful clients that have visited us in the studio. Our August dates are already getting full with both August 9th and now the 29th fully booked. For any future brides or current wife’s looking for anniversary gifts we still have open sessions on August 30th, but hurry and call us as bookings are going quickly. To see the current list of dates click here.
We are also planning to add new dates for the end of the year for ladies looking for some sexy holiday gifts, more news on that soon. OK, off to lunch for me
Seattle Boudoir Photography previews of Ms B

Ms B visited our boudoir photography studio in Seattle a little while ago and we had a wonderful time with her and her girlfriend who came along as support. We are just wrapping up some printing for her and she gave us permission to post these photographs of her. To me there is something really special about the colors in these prints, the dramatic red contrasting with the white sheets were some of Ms B’s favorites. We also loved the richness of the blue sari and then the ones of her in the guy’s shirt and tie were just so cute! And lets not forget that she looks simply beautiful!
This reminds me that I need to update the main gallery with these and others that we now have permission to post
Updates coming soon.

Video outtakes from Merilee’s new video
A couple of days ago Merilee and I created a new video for our latest Summer Bide Promotion. If you haven’t read her blog entry from yesterday you can find it here. Although she says that she got asked to create the video because she is the newest member of the Seattle Boudoir Photography team that’s actually not quite true! We’ve quickly noticed that Merilee is super quick at picking things up, is a great writer, has a wonderful personality and her humor is very dry. So add those all together and she was the perfect one to be on camera! So, Merilee – expect more video work soon
Here is a quick blooper reel that I put together from the few clips that we didn’t use, if you have a spare minute and want a giggle hit the play button below.
Behind the scenes with Seattle Boudoir Photography
One of the most frequent questions that we get asked is ‘what is it like to be on camera?’ Our potential clients look at the beautiful photographs and wonder what it takes to make them, what our studio is like and who will be there. We put together a video a while ago,and are working on creating a new one, but one thing we want to do more frequently is to take still shots from our sessions to show you some of the behind the scene outtakes.
These were taken at our last promotional weekend in Seattle. We chose to blur some the faces of the ladies as they haven’t yet given their guys the gifts, but these give you a sense of what it is like. This particular weekend we had the two Jen’s, Nicole, Phil and Merilee all working and taking care of our clients. We just love our clients and can’t tell you how much fun we have. These photographs taken by Merilee Jones.

We have just finished up creating some new framed samples of our wonderful clients for our studio walls which has been a lot of fun. One of the framed pieces featured the lovely Ms L who came into the studio a little while ago for a surprise for hubby. I asked her if it was ok if I post some of her photographs on the blog and she said yeah so here they are
I really love these as they are quite playful, but also a little darker!
