Seattle Boudoir previews – the lovely Ms P

Ms. P came into our boudoir studio with her two of her best friends, Ms. L and her lovely pup “Woof”!

Ms. L tagged along to be Ms. P’s cheerleader but “Woof” had no problem strutting her puppy stuff for a few poses with mom! Although our staff was enthralled by “Woof” we were absolutely mesmerized by Ms. P! Her dramatic look combined with her corset and her man’s button up shirt lead for some stunning photographs! While you are checking out all the hotness that is Ms. P we’re sure you’ll notice her amazing eyes! It’s hard to stop staring into them once they’ve locked onto you.

We can’t wait to see Ms. P again in 2012!

What a great way to start this week’s blog posts : )

Boudoir Products: Our classic album

Over the last year we have worked hard to find a range of photography products for our clients to display their photographs.   Its fair to say at the start of 2011 I wasn’t super happy with the breadth and depth of our offerings, to me they were too limiting in both variety and budget.  So at the start of last year we spent a lot of time researching different products and getting samples in the studio to experiment with.  As we start 2012, our forth year as a boudoir studio I feel really good about our product range.  Not that we are done looking for new products, even this week we just added a new product that we are excited about (more to come later) and there are a few areas that we need to find solutions for.  But we have come a long way in our ability to offer a range of products at different sizes, styles and price points.

One of the top categories of products that our clients are looking for are albums.   Because everyone’s taste and style is so different it quickly become apparent that we needed a range of albums styles that appeal to different clients.    So we ended up with three styles, our Classic Album, our Contemporary Album, and then we have our Chic Album.  A few examples above.  All albums are available in both landscape and portrait orientations. Once you have narrowed down your favorites photographs, one of our design consultants will work with you to layout the photographs in a dynamic fashion so that your photographs will really shine.

Here we have some examples of our timeless Classic Album with its silky black cover.  As an artisan studio, we assemble our archival quality products carefully by hand  and each photograph in our Classic Album is carefully printed and mounted in-house by our skilled framer, Kimi.  Our Classic Album is offered in a variety of sizes and dimensions ranging between 8×8 and 11×14. With photographs mounted directly onto pages, these entirely handmade albums are durable and substantial – a true work of art.  In addition to the black cover there are a number of other covers available for those of you that would like a little bit of color in your bedroom.   Our classic albums start out with eight photographs, but clients can add both extra photographs as well as extra pages.

Here are some sample shots of some of our classic albums, aren’t they pretty!

We will be adding more blog posts over the coming months on our different display options, but don’t forget we offer studio tours so if you want to come check out the complete range you can.

Cheers, Phil

Seattle Boudoir Previews – introducing the lovely Ms B

Ms. B. came to our studio in Seattle a few months ago with several different outfits that showed a sweet elegance.  She also had enough jewelry that we could have covered her in that alone and we got to work with her on some very sexy photos on her with those as well!

Originally concerned with looking too ‘hard’ in some of her typical photographs, Ms. B. quickly found out that you can be fit and feminine at the same time!  From corset to whimsical classic dress, Ms. B. shows that she too is a sexy lady.    Here are some initial previews of her session with us.

Ok, time to get back to work : )

Seattle Boudoir Previews – the beautiful Ms R

We have clients come into our photography studio in Seattle for many reasons, but often our favorite is those ladies who come in to celebrate their own personal beauty.  Although Ms R has a partner, she came to us to celebrate a personal milestone that she had been working towards and definitely achieved… a weight loss of over 100 pounds! She was super excited to show off her new bod and we were more than happy to capture the moment for her.

One thing we loved about her session was the variety of outfits and looks she had, everything from a very ‘sexy’ Formula 1 shirt, a beautiful teddy, just a pillow and finally an apron in our studio kitchen.

You rock Ms. R!

Thanks honey, we can’t wait to see you soon.

Seattle Boudoir Previews – introducing the beautiful Ms T

Ms. T came to us to celebrate her birthday. She claimed to be a tomboy but as she soon found out, she’s a total knock out!  Ms. T told us that the confidence she gained from her session has allowed her to start one of her dreams…. competing in fitness competitions! We wish her great luck in her competitions and hope she knows we’ll be rooting for her from the sidelines, tissue in hand in case the tears of joy roll once again.

We look forward to seeing her back in the studio within the coming year!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year !

A big THANK YOU to all of the lovely ladies and gentlemen that have graced us with their presence in the studio this year.  And what an amazing year it has been!

2011 has been quite an exciting year for all of us here at the studio.  Our year started off with a flurry of anxious Groupon users, followed by a studio pregnancy announcement from Erin.  We then filled the studio shelves with fabulous new photo products including new album styles and beautiful hand-made boudoir boxes ready to be filled with gorgeous ladies’ photos.  Sadly we lost our beloved Nicole who is now styling wardrobes for ladies all around Seattle.  Kim moved to Portland, but didn’t let that stop her from being at the studio every weekend to futz wardrobes and frame photos.  We enjoyed a sunny spring full of Sounders gear and bicycles during photo sessions.  Between session days our talented makeup artist Kristina somehow found time to lead her high-school drill team ladies to a state victory.  As Erin’s due date approached, and our session calendar continued to fill up, we snagged Julie and Amy to join in on the fun – Thank GAWD for them!  In July the Seattle Boudoir family grew with the birth of Erin’s son.  Consequently production seemed to come to a halt anytime he or Julie’s son was brought into the studio.  What can we say?  We LOVE babies and kids around here!!  We also LOVE “dude-oir”and have been fortunate to have quite a few daring men join us at the studio this year for their own sessions.  Yippee!!  We hope to see more men in the studio in 2012.  This fall we said “bye-bye” to our big brown couches.  Sniff.  Sniff.  They will be missed, but were also quickly replaced by a beautiful new daybed. Meow!  Colder weather then brought an onslaught of spectacular thigh-high boots into the studio as well as yummy baked goods for photo sessions.  Hint – we LOVE yummy baked goods around here!  Winter also blew in the newest addition to the stable… Miss Angela, who took the styling reigns from Kim so that she could focus on framing and prepping all of our lovely ladies’ photos.  We finished out the year with a mad dash of Groupon users getting into the studio for their sessions before their deal expired.  We came full circle with yet another studio pregnancy announcement from our lovely makeup artist Tiffany expecting her second child.  And this week we have been putting the finishing touches on everyone’s photos in time to be placed under Christmas trees all over Washington and across the country.

We love what we do here at Seattle Boudoir.  The highlight of our day revolves around showing everyone who joins us at the studio that they are unique, amazing, beautiful, empowered… the list goes on and on.  And it doesn’t hurt that we get to look at gorgeous photos ALL the time!

And here’s a little something fun for all of you.  A few weeks ago the tables were turned on us as we tried to capture a team photo before heading out for our studio holiday party.  I think we could have used some of our boudoir alums out there to direct the photo shoot, but you get the idea : )  Enjoy this special video message and Happy Holidays!

We would love to see you in the studio in 2012!!

Putting It All Together–so much fun!

Putting it all together.19

This past Saturday Seattle Boudoir Photography had the pleasure of being involved in the first “Putting It All Together” event by Tracy Saunders. Tracy is a make-up artist with years of experience working with Dior, Bare Escentuals and MAC just to name a few. This event also included Renessa Rios of Three Step Dating   – get her new book, Date Right …or stay single forever.

Just under 20 sassy ladies turned out for this super fun event! Tracy showed us some easy (yes I said easy) tips and tricks to jazz up our make-up routines for day and for night. You may be surprised just how far a little bit of make-up can go, when you know what to do with it.  Renessa talked about the importance of self love over seeking the love of another for fulfillment and how that self love and self respect will resonate in every aspect of your life.  We got to talk about how much WE LOVE WHAT WE DO. For us, there is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t come to the studio for a boudoir session. Doesn’t matter if you’re single, you think you need to drop ten pounds, you’re a mom; you should do this for YOU. Sure it might sound a little scary but once you’ve done it, you’ll feel more empowered than you have in a very long time.

We capped off our night with hitting a local restaurant for some dancing and had an absolutely fabulous time.  Some of us took advantage of the skills we learned that evening (wink, wink)…  Here are a few before and after photographs that we took of Tracy’s creative work.

We’re thankful to Tracy and Renessa for taking their time to make this event happen and we’re very much looking forward to more “Putting It All Together” events in the future. Cheers ladies!
