If it’s possible for a pixie to have long legs, than that’s Ms. C!
She, with her sassy haircut and beautiful brown eyes, came to Seattle Boudoir in order to create a special gift for her boyfriend. She wanted to do something original, and during her quest she came across our website online, made a spur-of-the-moment decision and decided to just go for it! She was a teensy bit nervous when she first arrived, but she soon relaxed, had a great time, and she has an awesome set of photographs to show for it.

Check out just a few of her faves here as well as a cute candid that we took of her when she came to pick up her wall display piece. That beautiful piece is now on display in their bedroom and reminds him how lucky a man he is, both the framed prints and Ms C are simply gorgeous!

Ms. Kim says don’t forget your mammogram appointment

A couple of months ago we decided to do a fundraiser that would benefit breast cancer research and awareness. A friend of mine, the lovely and amazing Ms. Kim, is herself a breast cancer survivor. She went through about a year of diagnosis and treatment, including chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and a hysterectomy, and today she is healthy and cancer-free. When I first told her about the boudoir photography fundraiser we were planning she immediately offered to help us out.
She has generously and fearlessly decided to share her story with all of us and even had her own boudoir session post-reconstruction here at the studio. I genuinely hope you take a few minutes to watch her video. Her experience and outlook on life is moving and compelling, and you’ll get to hear about her reaction to her boudoir session and final photographs (direct quote: “I am blown away!”). And speaking of photographs, there’ll be a sneak peek of a few of Ms. Kim’s great shots in the video, but keep an eye on our blog as we’ll be posting the photographs soon.
If you or anyone that you know are interested in joining us for this wonderful fundraiser you can check out the details here. Please pass the word.
That’s it for now, Merilee.

I’m really excited that we get to share these previews of Ms N. She came in about a month ago with the goal of creating some beautiful and sexual photographs for her husband’s 40th birthday. We had some much fun working with her and just so excited about how the photographs turned out. Her husband as you can probably tell by looking at the previews is a police officer and her shirt was the perfect accessory for much of the shoot, along with some wonderfully sexy lingerie. She had planned a little get away in San Francisco for them both to celebrate his 40th birthday and it made the perfect time to give him a very wonderful gift – more details on that soon.
So when I asked her if she was ok with us posted some previews of her I was so excited that she said yes. I’m sure hubby with get a kick out of seeing these as well ! I’m getting ready to update the main gallery photographs and have a few more of Ms N for that as well

Seattle Boudoir Photography previews of Ms B

Ms B visited our boudoir photography studio in Seattle a little while ago and we had a wonderful time with her and her girlfriend who came along as support. We are just wrapping up some printing for her and she gave us permission to post these photographs of her. To me there is something really special about the colors in these prints, the dramatic red contrasting with the white sheets were some of Ms B’s favorites. We also loved the richness of the blue sari and then the ones of her in the guy’s shirt and tie were just so cute! And lets not forget that she looks simply beautiful!
This reminds me that I need to update the main gallery with these and others that we now have permission to post
Updates coming soon.

We have just finished up creating some new framed samples of our wonderful clients for our studio walls which has been a lot of fun. One of the framed pieces featured the lovely Ms L who came into the studio a little while ago for a surprise for hubby. I asked her if it was ok if I post some of her photographs on the blog and she said yeah so here they are
I really love these as they are quite playful, but also a little darker!

Ladies, this is the perfect ego boost

Generally being one of the first points of contact for our clients, I field a lot of questions about our boudoir shoots in Seattle. “How long does it take?” “How many outfits should I bring?” “How many photos will I get to choose from after I’m done?” Strangely though, I find the most common question I get is this one - ”Can I book for a few months from now so I have time to lose ten pounds?” Myself being, let’s say, not a size 0, nor any longer in 19-year-old skin, I can understand the first inclination to ask about this, and maybe even think to myself, “If only I were a little thinner, or could get rid of a little cellulite, or have perkier breasts, or fewer wrinkles, then I would feel better in front of the camera.” Then, confident, empowered Jen steps in and says to insecure, society-pressured Jen, “Shut up gurrrl! You know you hot just as you is! Damn! I’m warm just standing next to you!”
This is what our boudoir photography experience is about. It’s about us, the Seattle Boudoir Photography team, helping you to find your confident, empowered voice – the one that really does know how amazingly beautiful you are, both inside and out. Being photogenic has so little to do with how you physically appear, your age, your shape, or your endowments, and so much more to do with the energy you exude. If you believe you are beautiful (which is easy, because you are!), you will be beautiful through the lens of the camera and in the eyes of everyone around you. Confidence is the single most attractive accessory you can own and we will work with you to bring that out in your photo session! So this season, Prada is out! Self-esteem and swagger are in!
So, if you’re visiting this site with the thought of trying out our boudoir experience, I want you to first step away from the Thighmaster, the Jane Fonda tapes and your anti-wrinkle cream, then pick up the phone and prepare for the most fun ego-boosting experience of your life. You will be so glad you did, because you’ll finally see what all the world already knows. You are simply gorgeous, just as you are.
Love yourself and she will love you back!

Boudoir Photography previews for Ms R in Seattle

I’ve been finishing up printing some wonderful photographs for one of our fabulous clients that came into our photography studio in Seattle for one of our boudoir specials. Ms R originally was planning to purchase one print with multiple photographs in it for the wall of their bedroom. That was until hubby found out about her plans and managed to get a look at the previews. He quickly determined that the initial size was way too small and he wanted something much bigger, he also determined that he wanted additional prints framed on their wall. Knowing how lovely his beautiful wife is we were hardly going to complain were we! Here are a few of the prints that she gave me permission to post that didn’t how too much of her.

One of the frequent questions that we get asked by clients before their session is “What will my session be like’?
We have written up a little bit about the experience here but we thought that we should create a quick video that can actually shows you what our clients get to experience. We have spent a lot of time designing our sessions to be very encouraging, very comfortable and relaxing, safe and professional and this, combined with the amazing talents of Jennifer and Phil helps us get wonderful results that our clients love. The one thing I forgot to mention which seems to be a natural result when you get a bunch of really cool people together, our sessions are a whole lot of fun! So if you are looking to create some beautiful and artist boudoir photographs made of yourself and if you want to have a lot of fun doing it give us a call.
This small video which lasts about two minutes was put together containing multiple clips from our recent boudoir photography sessions in Seattle. Make sure you have your sound turned up so you get to hear the great music and all the laughter.
What is Boudoir Photography?

When asked where does the term “boudoir ” come from most people refer to the word bedroom, as it is often said that boudoir is French for bedroom. In fact this is only partly true, the origins of the word stem back from the word “pout” or “sulk”. It is said that when a lady needed to sulk or pout she should go to her private room or bedroom which was then referred as her “pouting room” or “sulking place”.
Boudoir photography is nothing knew and it has its roots in history that goes back hundreds, maybe thousands of years. If you were to look back in history there has always been tastefully done paintings of women is various states of undress. Almost all of the old master painters admired the human form and tried to depict that on canvas in flattering detail. These paintings were usually commissioned work and hence were expensive, luxury gifts for the very wealthy and these paintings are still prized possessions today. Many years ago I used to live in Paris and like many new visitors to that wonderful city I would frequently spend time visiting the amazing Louvre Museum viewing as many of these old masters as time allowed.
With the invention of the camera, the photographic process and then mass production printing, photographs and pictures of women in various states of undress became more widely available. The ‘pinups’ girls have been around since the early 1900′s and as the century evolved the photographs became more risqué. By the 1950s, models were posing in skimpier clothing, smaller bathing suits, lacy lingerie or partially nude. During the major wars of the century, World War II, the Korean War and of course the Vietnam War it was not un common for solders to receive pinup photographs of their wives or girlfriends to remind them of their loved ones back at home.
Today boudoir photography is about creating beautiful, intimate, tasteful and empowering fine art photographs. Boudoir photographs allow you to express your sensuality, your sexuality, your beauty and most importantly your individuality. Although these photographs are often taken with clients in lingerie or partially nude, boudoir photography is all about attitude and very little to do with your clothing, your figure or your age.
