What woman doesn’t enjoy a good sale? Here’s a little something to get you in the mood for the Spring and your upcoming Seattle Boudoir Photography session…
As some of you may know we are partnered with a fantastic little gem of a lingerie boutique in University Village, Zovo Lingerie. Zovo is in the midst of its 5th Annual Bra Event! This is pretty exciting for a few reasons; 1) The staff at Zovo really know their stuff. No matter what you cup size, they’ve got you covered (no pun intended). 2)They carry familiar brands like Cosabella and bTempted and not so familiar ones like UK line Fauve and French line Simone Perele. 3) If you can get a $130 bra for 60% off why wouldn’t you? Click the link below for a preview and set aside some time to go see the lovely ladies at Zovo. You won’t regret it!
Also, if you’re a gal who loves a good corset than this sale is right up your alley! Corsets can a little bit difficult to manage (albeit, worth it) but can be a little less so when you order custom from Absolute Corsets. These ladies have a deal and a half going right now so take advantage before it’s gone. They’ve got overbust corsets, underbust corsets and even bloomers and petticoats. Choose from a number of different deals.
Check out Ms S awesome array of props

Ms S is stunningly beautiful and an outdoor enthusiast. For her boudoir shoot she did not bring much that would be considered standard, but she really nailed her wardrobe by using an array of awesome props. She went with a range of outfits that really represented her personality and interests, from a pair of skis to a climbing harness replete with D-rings and a helmet! So far she is the only one who has brought that combination of pieces in, so we really had fun with the creativity of it all. It just goes to show that a boudoir shoot is truly about highlighting you, and that is one of the sexiest things that can be captured in a photograph.

So the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale is over. Where do you go now besides your own drawer? Frederick’s of Hollywood is having their summer sale!
Now I know you might be thinking that fredericks is a little too racey but it’s not as a much of a "dirty little secret" as it used to be and there are added bonus’ to ordering from them. They have plus sizes available for one. I mention this because as a true size 8, not even good ole’ Vicky can be relied upon for lingerie all the time. So whether you’re average sized, plus sized or tiny sized frederick’s usually doesn’t disappoint. And yes, bonus number two, they do offer racey little numbers. Which is great when you want to try something new, or spice things us a bit. They’ve got sweet chemises, fantasy pieces and their own specialty line called Seduction by frederick’s of Hollywood. Bonus number 3; It’s cheap! Even when it’s not on sale. And if you’re only planning on wearing these pieces to your shoot and maybe one night for him or her, nothing lost and a whole lot gained!
Don’t be shy. Check it out.

Got to run, Nicole!
Save this weekend, Vicki Secret sale ends on Monday

So girls, here we are again, the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale is coming to an end. I don’t know if Victoria didn’t get the memo that the economy sucks but they designed and made so much merch this year, hence the piles and piles in the bins right now. It’s truly unbelievable. Usually at this time in the sale pickins’ are slim no matter what size your breasts or butt are. I’ve been to Southcenter ( Westfield Shoppingtown Center) and Pacific Place and the abundance and choice are pretty great. All panties are $2.99, even if they were to fall apart in two weeks you wouldn’t care at that price. And bras, 19.99. Large or small that’s a steal.
I’ve found a few things for myself and for you if I could dress you. Whether you want something just for yourself or to share with your partner, perhaps for your wedding night, make the trip. I assure you it will be worth it. Check out the lace slip with garters, it’s got a perfect pin-up feel and if you’re feeling a little more glam, then the Georgette Halter Babydoll may be just the thing. My personal fave from the online sale is the Retro Garter Slip, it’s so completely sexy without too many bells and whistles. It’s all in the elegant yet minimal details with this one.
Photo’s are from the Victoria Web Site, follow the link to check out all their wonderful stuff. Tat -ta for now! Nicole
Ladies, this is the perfect ego boost

Generally being one of the first points of contact for our clients, I field a lot of questions about our boudoir shoots in Seattle. “How long does it take?” “How many outfits should I bring?” “How many photos will I get to choose from after I’m done?” Strangely though, I find the most common question I get is this one - ”Can I book for a few months from now so I have time to lose ten pounds?” Myself being, let’s say, not a size 0, nor any longer in 19-year-old skin, I can understand the first inclination to ask about this, and maybe even think to myself, “If only I were a little thinner, or could get rid of a little cellulite, or have perkier breasts, or fewer wrinkles, then I would feel better in front of the camera.” Then, confident, empowered Jen steps in and says to insecure, society-pressured Jen, “Shut up gurrrl! You know you hot just as you is! Damn! I’m warm just standing next to you!”
This is what our boudoir photography experience is about. It’s about us, the Seattle Boudoir Photography team, helping you to find your confident, empowered voice – the one that really does know how amazingly beautiful you are, both inside and out. Being photogenic has so little to do with how you physically appear, your age, your shape, or your endowments, and so much more to do with the energy you exude. If you believe you are beautiful (which is easy, because you are!), you will be beautiful through the lens of the camera and in the eyes of everyone around you. Confidence is the single most attractive accessory you can own and we will work with you to bring that out in your photo session! So this season, Prada is out! Self-esteem and swagger are in!
So, if you’re visiting this site with the thought of trying out our boudoir experience, I want you to first step away from the Thighmaster, the Jane Fonda tapes and your anti-wrinkle cream, then pick up the phone and prepare for the most fun ego-boosting experience of your life. You will be so glad you did, because you’ll finally see what all the world already knows. You are simply gorgeous, just as you are.
Love yourself and she will love you back!

As a team we are always on the look out for fun clothing and accessories for our clients. Hillary sent me a link to Bestow and asked me to add it to our blog.
Bestow is a small online boutique with a lovely selection of apparel by designers and fine stores that might be perfect if you are looking for something for one of our boudoir photography sessions in our Seattle studio. If you are looking for some romantic or fun items this store might just have the perfect item, like their silk corsage camisole and brief set, their lace Teddy or their simply fun weekend knicker set! Don’t forget to check out their accessory pages as well. Just so fun.
Some fun outfits for your valentine boudoir session

I was talking to a client earlier this weekend and she was telling me that Fredericks of Hollywood has a special sale on right now for their Valentines Lingerie and I thought I would post a link here. Fredericks have been around for a long time and have some fun outfits. Personally I find some of their stuff too tacky for my tastes, but if you look around their site some of their lingerie is very playful and often affordable so why not check it out.
Don’t forget to bring some fun accessories

One of the frequent questions that we get asked is what to wear and what to bring? Apart from your favorite sensual lingerie the key thing that we advise clients to bring is accessories. Our boudoir consultants will be happy to help you out with ideas but I thought it might be worth posting some ideas here. Often you will find those accessories already in your closet, but feel to go shopping too as the local Seattle stores will love that.
Lets talk shoes! I have found very few women that have visited us not loving shoes so this is always an easy conversation. Grab a few pairs of your favorite stylish and sexy shoes and boots. Knowing that you won’t have far to walk once you get here, the taller the heels the better. Black heels are classic, but don’t forget open toed shoes that highlight your painted nails. As for boots, likewise high sexy boots are great, but ladies with cowboy boots don’t forget them as they look great against your legs with maybe your cowboy hat on top as well. Hosiery is also great to highlight your legs and create that extra intrigue. The two obvious choices are fishnets or stockings. If you have both bring them along and we can decide depending on your outfit. For stockings we find that the look between those with suspenders and hold-ups are very different, so again if you can try and bring both that gives us choice depending on the outfit.
Next, hats. Cowboy hats are a whole lot of fun and is often an obvious choice and often found in closets. Caps of all colors and styles work great too. Big brimmed hats are wonderful because you can often ‘hide’ underneath them so if you have have any please bring them along. Then, in addition to shoes and hats, scarves, wraps and sexy feather Boas are great to drape over your body and create that sexy look, while keeping you modest. If you like gloves, either long or lacy please bring them along.
As I finish this I realize there are lots of different ideas here, don’t feel pressured to bring everything, its just to get you thinking before your session. If you have any concepts or ideas, please feel free to discuss with us before your session.
Here we have the lovely Ms V leveraging some fun and sexy hosiery to enhance her long legs, a fun black cap and then a sexy black boa to mostly cover her upper body but yet leaving some intrigue to what’s underneath.

Absolute Corsets special New Year’s offer

I was talking earlier to a client about her up coming session in our photography studio in Seattle and she was asking some questions on what to wear. She was looking at some of the previews of Ms A in her corset and was asking if I knew where to buy corsets for her shoot. One of the supplies that I have used in the past is www.AbsoluteCorsets.com as they have a large selection of both overbust and underbust corsets to choose from in a variety of materials.
With today’s fashions trends the corset isn’t typically in every woman’s closet but for someone considering doing a boudoir session they make an excellent option if you you want to create some photographs that have a timeless erotic look. With their figure enhancing bodice there are lots of styles and materials that offer front or back lace-ups, some of which have straps while others don’t for you to choose from.
If you wanted to checkout Absolute Corsets collection I noticed that they have both a $30 off offer right now along with free shipping which isn’t bad if you find that they have something you are interested in. Not sure how long the offer runs for I’m afraid.
Are you looking for authentic boudoir pinup clothing?

If you are looking for ideas for what to wear for your boudoir photography session, maybe you might want to consider going with a 40’s or 50’s Pinup theme. Not surprisingly as Jennifer’s is the owner of Pinup Salon which is a very swanky 1940’s style salon, Jennifer has a passion for Pinup styles and she uses many classic vintage styling techniques in her work.
If you are looking for some inspiration and ideas here a few online sites to get you thinking

Note: I have not personally purchased from any of these so I don’t know what their shopping experience is or obviously can’t endorse these stores. If anyone has a good experience please let us know.
